Navajo cODE TALKERS
Messages were very important in the second World War. But, there is not point in the message if the enemy could understand what was being said. There was won unbreakable code: the Navajo language. This language was very rare and only a few spoke it. The first 29 recruited Navajos started in May of 1942. By the end of the war, there was 400 code talkers. These Native Americans took their language and adapted it to war related items. An example would be birds. The names of different of birds were names for air planes. After a skeptical lieutenant tested their skills and after proving themselves, the Navajo Code Talkers were used in every combat mission. "Major Howard Connor, who was the signal officer of the Navajos at Iwo Jima, said, “Were it not for the Navajos, the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima.”" The Code Talkers were not recognized until 1968 and in 1982, President Ronald Reagan gave the Code Talkers a Certificate of Recognition and stated that August 14 was “Navajo Code Talkers Day".

espionage of world war ii
"Much of the drama of stories of conflict in World War II revolve around the great battles of the times. While those were spectacular, the great victories of the war could not have been possible if not for the tireless and courageous efforts of hundreds of spies and operatives to did the job to give the allied powers the edge in the conflict and to undermine the effort of the enemy every step of the way." Many of the World War II spies will never be recognized but there are a few that did so. This is because there are spies. They are good at keeping secrets from their enemy and from the world. As the allied powers spied on Germany, it was often a lonely and fearful days work. This is because if they are captured they were required to give up their life than to reveal anything about what they know. It was just part of the job. Another part of the job was damaging morale of the enemy. Allied spies were so successful because they listened in on what Germany was doing. They cracked codes very well. The brave espionage agents of our spy agencies had many jobs along with gathering secret information to make the victory of World War II go to the Allied powers.
